• ‘The back’ means the area of the shoulderblades.
• Extend the shoulderblades to both sides, like drawing a
bow into the shape of a smooth arc.
• Sink the waist/lower back and the kua and keep them
in this position. Rotate the roots of the arms inwards.
Do not turn the elbows outwards.
• This posture assumes the image of a tiger’s back.
Meridian: Bright Yang large intestine meridian of the hand.

Point the index fingers forward, slightly sink the waist.
{Acupoints are Shangyang -+ Yangxi.)

Drop the elbows, rotate the forearms inward.
{Acupoints are Yangxi-+ Q!!chi.)

Sink the shoulders, slightly bend the elbows and point them forward.
{Acupoints are Q!!chi -+ Jugu.)

Extend the shoulders backwards and to the sides.
(Acupoints are Jugu -+ Tian ding.)
Muscle contour
The trapezius, deltoid and pectoralis major muscles are all extended
transversely. Force in the chest goes slightly backwards, force in the back goes slightly forwards.
